2025 Spring House Clinics

Our 2025 Spring House Clinics are designed for players to prepare for the upcoming softball season. All clinics will be held indoors in the Glenbrook North High School Fieldhouse, 2300 Shermer Rd, Northbrook, IL. Instruction will be led by softball coaches from NGSA Travel teams.

Girls will be split into groups based on grade and will attend at different times. This year, we have added sessions for our new Sprites (Kindergarten & first grade) Division! Note that while the sessions for 2nd through 8th graders cover different skill sets each week (which is why most players register for all three or as many as possible), for Sprites the sessions are identical and they should choose just one. Here are the details…

FOR SPRITES (K-1st) – each session is identical, register only for one:
March 2nd, 2025, 12:30pm-2:00pm: Softball Basics
March 16th, 2025, 12:30pm-2:00pm: Softball Basics

FOR PONYTAIL (2nd-3rd) – each session covers different skills, register for as many as you’d like:
March 2nd, 2025, 12:30pm-2:00pm: Fielding and Throwing
March 9th, 2025, 12:30pm-2:00pm: Hitting and Base-running
March 16th, 2025, 12:30pm-2:00pm: Pitching and Catching

FOR MINORS (4th-5th) AND MAJORS (6th-8th) – each session covers different skills, register for as many as you’d like:
March 2nd, 2025, 2:00pm-3:30pm: Fielding and Throwing
March 9th, 2025, 2:00pm-3:30pm: Hitting and Base-running
March 16th, 2025, 2:00pm-3:30pm: Pitching and Catching

Cost for each clinic is $25, except Sprites which is FREE but only for players registered for the spring season. Space is limited, and sessions will close for registration once reaching capacity, which most sessions usually do. So register right away!

Registration must be completed online - no registrations will be accepted at the door. Click on the appropriate age group, date(s) and time(s) for your girl(s).

A few reminders:

+ Participants should wear gym shoes (NO CLEATS) and bring a water bottle, mitt and infielder's mask (if they have one) to each clinic
+ Participants should also bring their batting helmet to the hitting and base-running clinic if they have one, and a bat if they have that (does not apply to Sprites)
+ For players who are new to NGSA and don't yet have a helmet, you will receive your new helmet at the clinic (except Sprites who will use NGSA-owned helmets for their age group)

2025 Spring House League Softball

***UPDATE ON SPRITES (K-1st) WAIT LIST: Our Sprites Division is currently on Wait List registration. But if we get just a couple more players to register we will have enough to open up more teams and bring everyone onboard! So if you are interested, please do register on the Wait List, just like the normal registration process. You will be informed if/when we activate your daughter(s), and you won't be charged until that happens.

***UPDATE ON MAJORS (6th-8th) WAIT LIST: Majors is also now in Wait List status. If we get enough players on the list, we will open up another team.

Welcome to the Spring 2025 House League! Our House League program is specifically designed for instruction and inclusion. The program accepts Kindergarten-8th grade girls regardless of their experience, ability, or residency. Having fun while participating in low-pressure fast-pitch softball instruction is the priority of the program.

This program is made up of four different divisions based on the school grade of the players:
  • Sprites: K & 1st graders (coach pitch with tee backup, 10" soft ball, 10 players per team)
  • Ponytail: 2nd & 3rd graders (player pitch with coach backup, 11" soft ball, 12-13 players per team)
  • Minors: 4th & 5th graders (all player pitch, 11" hard ball, 12-13 players per team)
  • Majors: 6th, 7th, and 8th graders (all player pitch, 12" standard ball, 11-13 players per team)
For our 2025 Season, NGSA is excited to add the Sprites division for the first time!

Our 2025 spring season starts in early April. The season ends around the time Northbrook school districts let out for summer. The season typically includes 8 to 10 regular season games and one practice per week, per team, followed by a single elimination playoff and "World Series" for the Majors, Minors, and Ponytail divisions (for Sprites, the schedule is one game and one practice per week, with no postseason).

Registration Fees for Spring 2025:
  • SPRITES: $150 for Northbrook residents, $175 non-residents
  • ALL OTHERS: $270 for Northbrook residents, $295 non-residents
Your fees include those regular season games (fields and umpires), full uniforms (jersey, pants, belt, socks), and team equipment (catching gear, balls, practice equipment, etc.). For Ponytail, Minors, and Majors, it also includes playoff and World Series games, and an All Star Game, and a one-time issue batting helmet for each player (Sprites will have team helmets).

The overall deadline to register is 2/22, or earlier if any given division fills up before then (which sometimes happens).

*Note: If a division fills up, you can still register onto the Wait List. You will not be charged at that time; only if/when your player is added to the league.

Additionally, we offer instructional House clinics in March to help girls improve their skills before the season starts. Please be on the lookout for future emails and website updates regarding these March clinics, including dates, times, and fees.

TEAM, COACH OR FRIENDSHIP REQUESTS:
Team / Coach requests can be specified on the registration form by putting the coach's name in the appropriate field, if your player has a team or coach they would like to play with. Alternatively, if they have a friend request, just fill in that field. Please note that these requests are filled on a best effort basis and are not guaranteed.

VOLUNTEERING TO COACH OR HELP OUT:
Our House League teams are coached by parent volunteers, and the league could not be as successful as it is without them. When you register your child for the league, you will be given the opportunity to volunteer as a Head Coach, Assistant Coach, or Team Parent (helper), if you would like to do so. We provide a free pre-season clinic for coaches, as well as a pre-season briefing and any assistance they may need throughout the season.

FEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM:
As a community-based program, we recognize that some families may require fee assistance in order for their daughter to participate in softball. The NGSA Board of Directors never want financial hardship to get in the way of a girl experiencing the great team sport of softball! If you require additional support, please fill out the Google form and our House League Director(s) will respond to you as soon as possible.

If you have any questions, please reach out to the House League Director at [email protected].
